Before I researched into what kind of demon I’d want to make I wanted to find something with a name fit to my personal demons. After a bit of searching, I ran into a bit of Greek mythology concerning Anemoi, much more importantly, Boreas. He’s a deity of winter and is characterized by his violent tendencies and being quick to anger.
I myself have grown incredibly tolerant of things because I have a certain amount of self control but I wasn’t always that way. I calmed down over the years through plenty of meditation and self reflection and started to act much more empathetically in a lot of situations. Basically, Boreas is the opposite of that.
As a demon, he is a practical entity of misbehavior, lack of self control and anger. He has a tendency to go on and on about terrible things that could be potentially traumatizing and violent and insist that you do them, whether it’s on someone else or yourself. He tries to convince you that your reality is only an illusion so you can do whatever you want but none of it is actually true. One of his worst qualities would probably be that he’s a compulsive liar.
He’s incredibly quick to anger and if he doesn’t get his way he’ll barrage you with the things that you’re the most self conscious about. Honestly he’d probably fit the title of a demon pretty well, there’s no real sense of kindness in him. If he’s not trying to get you to do something or not attacking you, he’s probably complaining about someone or anyone around you.
Aside from that, he dictates in his power, the weather. More importantly he chooses only to bring ice, frost and hail because they’re the coldest and most unforgiving part of any season. With winter, it brings death and Boreas, instead of bringing spring to follow, wishes to keep everything in a frigid prison.
Physically, he appears to be made of ice and stone, wearing pelts and a skull of an animal. There’s nothing warm about him and despite being made of his own real element, he drips but never melts. He’s fairly thin and if you were to stand him up straight you might be able to see the outline of the bottom of his ribcage. You can see some teeth barely through his face, though they hardly serve any purpose to him at this point. If he wanted to open his mouth he could.
While he was living, Boreas was a soldier. He hungered for power but was given none due to his short temper and recklessness in battle. Though he was an incredibly skilled soldier and capable of fighting off many kinds of assailants he was injured in battle to the point he was crippled and could no longer move to do what he pleased. He dared to look into something like cursed wine and ended up brewing one himself. He thought that a life without being able to move and fight wasn’t worth it and so it was worth the risk. Fortunately or maybe unfortunately it did work and Boreas became a demon.
To complete his pact, you would have to take revenge in his place on both the one who crippled him, their leaders, and the ones who denied him power. He really only cares for revenge and could care less about the outcome of warfare even if it would be over. In return for making a pact with him you’d be able to freeze pretty much anything and resist the effects of extreme cold. The environment of anyones combined minds would take the form of a frozen expanse with blizzards galore.
I saw this contest the other day, though and honestly I thought why not make something! It could be fun and designing things has always been terrific. Plus, Avas Demon is such a great comic getting off its feet and I really want to see it happen sometime. It’s the kind of thing I could see and would see in movies HAHA„This was really fun to make, especially the ice parts oops. Same with the fur. And the colors, And pretty much everything else omg.
Best of luck to everyone else though!
Here’s a headshot I forgot to put in earlier since the mask gets in the way >:O
